SPCA Pet of the Week

SPCA Pet of the Week
Originally brought in with a bad case of demodectic mange, little Cisco has had quite the 8-month adventure. He is now 11-months-old and is out of foster care, but looking for a home to call his very own! Cisco was previously adopted, but returned for having a bit too much energy for his last household.

SPCA Pet of the Week- Avee!

A beautiful boxer mix is looking for a home! Avee is about two-years-old and while she is active and ready for anything, she is also well behaved and a great listener (especially when treats are involved!) Avee is wired to run, which is not only her favorite activity, but something that she needs to do often to let out her young energy.

Low Cost Spay/Neuter Returns to County Shelter

Low Cost Spay/Neuter Returns to County Shelter

Looking forward to an early April opening, low-cost animal spay-neuter and vaccination services will be available at the County Animal Shelter Clinic adjacent to the animal shelter at 3839 Bradshaw Road.  The County Board of Supervisors has approved entering into a new service provider agreement with Animal Spay and Neuter, a nonprofit clinic that delivers these needed services.

“We are very pleased to begin a new partnership with Animal Spay and Neuter Clinic to bring back low cost spay and neutering.  Their reputation and performance are outstanding,” stated Dave Dickinson, County Animal Shelter Director.  “Together we will continue efforts to reduce the number of unwanted animals and provide more resources to fight pet overpopulation.”

30 Minus 2 Days of Writing Challenge
Day 18: Liars

I could write a whole book about liars and how much I hate them. But then you’d be reading a very heavy tome filled with the ugly that came out of me and you’d question my ability to return from the hate abyss. You’d think of me as a hater. I’d be a big wart-nosed hater. And then you’d hate me. And you’d spray paint “hater” all over my fence even though YOU are doing it out of hate as well. And the hate would spread and infect the rest of the planet until everyone hated everybody and there would be no more ice cream and who wants that?

So, instead I will share with you something that is filled with playfulness and love that my friend, Brad, sent to me.

Also, it must be goat season as people have been throwing more of them at me lately.

SPCA Pet(s) of the Week- The Three Amigos!

SPCA Pet(s) of the Week- The Three Amigos!

This photo of three (six-year-old) Chihuahuas is enough to get your attention! These three brothers (Duke, Mudd Budd & Buddha) have lived together for their whole lives. Though they are not a mandatory dual adoption, we are looking for a home that can possibly take in all three. They are very sweet and affectionate, but also shy, so we are pretty sure that an adult home without small children will suit them best.
