Man arrested in connection to Sacramento shooting death | Crime
SACRAMENTO, Calif. - A man was arrested in connection to shooting and killing one man and injuring another at an Arden-Arcade apartment complex early Saturday morning.
Sacramento County Sheriff's Department received a report at 1:30 a.m. early Saturday of a shooting at an apartment complex on the 1600 block of Bell Street.
Sgt. Jason Ramos said when deputies arrived at the scene, they found two men with gunshot wounds.
Ramos said an 18-year-old man was transported to the hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to his upper body. Another man, Rickey Howard, 33, also sustained a gunshot wound to the upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene.
After several witnesses were detained for questioning, detectives learned that there was a party at the apartment when three people got into an fight, which escalated into a shooting.
Ramos said witness reports and evidence at the scene lead deputies to identify Donnell DeShawn Stean, 30, as a suspect.
Stean was arrested around 3 p.m. Saturday in a Foothill Farms neighborhood. He was booked into the Sacramento County jail for murder and assault with a deadly weapon.
