• Cinco De Mayo Celebrations at Zocalo: Zocalo Midtown’s 6th Annual Tequila Festival will take place tonight! Enjoy appetizers and sample tequila from eight different distilleries and savor a cigar from the cigar bar by Fat Man Cigars from 6 – 9 p.m.

The California State Historic Governor’s Mansion Foundation in cooperation with the Governor’s Mansion State Historic Park (SHP) are proud to present a special fundraising event titled “The Magic of Spring, A Garden Affair at the Mansion” on Saturday, May 18, 2013. The celebratory evening event will take place from 4 to 6 p.m.

In addition to its fascinating Gold Rush past, the Sacramento area is rich with an amazing array of state-of-the-art museums and historic sites that offer visitors the chance to explore California’s fine art, history, science, and wildlife treasures all year long.  In May, many of the 30 members of Sacramento Association of Museums (SAM) are celebrating the season and warmer weather by extending into evening activities, a sampling of which follows:

The Sacramento Historic Old Sacramento Foundation is proud to offer weekly “adults only” tours of the underground on Thursday evenings throughout the summer. Entertaining and knowledgeable guides lead tour guests on walking tours that explore some of the dark secrets and racy tales lurking in Old Sacramento’s underground history.
